How do I setup Extend Hosted E-mail accounts to use with Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express?
Choose an e-mail program from below.
Using this option, you will not receive your emails if you are unable to connect to the internet. If you are unable to connect to the internet, please contact our ISP.
Microsoft Outlook
Use this procedure to set up an Extend e-mail account in Microsoft Outlook.
To add and configure a new Internet e-mail account:
Start Microsoft Outlook.
On the Tools menu, click Email Accounts.
In the Email Accounts dialog box, click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
Click POP3 and then click Next.
In the User information space, type the name that you want others to see when you send a message; for example Jane Doe In the E-mail Address box, type the e-mail address for the account that you are using (for example, "johndoe@yourchurch.com).
Under Logon Information, type in your email UserID and Password.
In the Server information space, in the Incoming mail server (POP3) field, enter mail.extendplatform.com.
In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field, enter smtp.extendplatform.com.
Click More Settings.
On the Outgoing Server tab, put check in My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and click OK.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
Outlook Express
Use this procedure to set up an Extend e-mail account in Outlook Express.
To add and configure a new Internet e-mail account:
Start Outlook Express.
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click Add, and then click Mail.
In the Display Name box, type the name that you want others to see when you send a message; for example Jane Doe. Click Next.
In the E-mail Address box, type the e-mail address for the account that you are using (for example, janedoe@yourchurch.com) and then click Next.
Under E-mail Server Names, choose POP3 as the incoming mail server type.
In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, enter mail.extendplatform.com.
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, enter smtp.extendplatform.com. Click Next.
In the Internet Mail Account Name box, type the account name that you are configuring. Your account name is your complete e-mail address. Next enter your Password, select Remember password, and then click Next.
In the Congratulations box, click Finish.
Once back at the Internet Accounts box, select your newly created mail account and click Properties.
In the Mail Properties box, select the Servers tab. Under Outgoing Mail Server, select My server requires authentication and then click Settings...
In the Outgoing Mail Server box, select Use same settings as my incoming mail server, and then click OK.
In the Mail Properties box, click OK.
In the Internet Accounts box, click Close. You are now ready to send and receive e-mail using your new ACS Technologies Extend e-mail account.
